Lime Plastering

We specialise in lime plastering to all substrates, but we have a particular strength in lime plastering on cob. Our work is often linked to the weather, therefore when the external lime rendering season ends in September/October we gladly retreat indoors, to lime plastering work through the winter.

All our internal plastering work is carried out using a soft lime putty mix. We usually replicate the number of original coats which are being repaired or replaced, whether that is one or two coats for less formal work or up to four coat work for the highest quality work.

The backing coats tend to be placed in thicker layers, which require both hair and coarser aggregates for strength and shrinkage reduction. The thinner top coats are usually mixed with finer aggregates and lime putty or sometimes a pure putty alone.
